Utah is my 40th state and the Morgan Valley Marathon is my favorite (small) race to date! The organizers did a top notch job! Course support was excellent; we started right at dawn to minimize time in the heat later; and everyone was friendly, helpful and well trained. We love the smaller races and this one is tops. It was unusually hot but they put roving aid stations on the course and were constantly checking with cars, 4-wheelers and bicycles to make sure everyone was OK or get them any help required.
Race Tips
The course is all small rolling hills with a very few exceptions. Mile markers are posted but there are no course timers/timing mats. Beautiful run out in the country!
No expo, but they did have a pasta dinner. Unfortunately there are no hotels in Morgan, but we stayed in Layton and the drive was only 25 minutes. Free parking at rave start. 5:30am start, but you'll be glad when the sun tops the hills.
