After the initial 10 mile descent (drops approximately 1400 feet), the Leavenworth Marathon course does have a lot of turns which may slow some runners on this fast downhill/flat course.
From the race website - The course runs on a combination of scenic country roads and trails around Leavenworth bordering the Wenatchee National Forest and Alpine Lakes Wilderness area. Each course is about 10% dirt trail along the Wenatchee River in Waterfront Park.
